Grab your leash and get a wiggle on to Muddy Paws Wine Festival

On the weekend of July 8 & 9, 2017, Vineland Estates Winery and Featherstone Estate Winery will open their doors to well-behaved dogs on leash who wish to accompany their owners. The Bruce Trail connects Vineland Estates and Featherstone, and the way is signed. It’s roughly a 20 minute hike between wineries. “Vineyard chic” footing is recommended- sneakers, hiking boots or running shoes  (high heels will be regretted).

New and favourite wines will be available by the glass and renowned chefs will be serving delicious fare all afternoon. There will be a canine theme to the weekend, with special events at each winery and a portion of wine sales will support National Service Dogs.

At both wineries you will find a tent for Your Designated Driver transportation services who are providing DD services. We highly recommended booking ahead with them. Call 289.929.0701 or visit their website for more information about their services and fees.

There is no shuttle service between the wineries, but if you have the right footwear, it is a lovely 20 minute hike through the woods on the Bruce Trail. The trail is clearly marked, but appropriate footwear is essential. (i.e. you should have support for your ankles, it’s a wilderness trail, not a paved one)

Time:

12:00 noon – 5:00pm Saturday July 8 and Sunday July 9, 2017

Price:

Tickets are $20.00 + HST. Each ticket includes access to the Festival area at both wineries; one glass of wine and one commemorative glass. Tickets are valid for either Saturday July 8 OR Sunday July 9, 2017. Please specify which date you will be attending when you purchase your ticket.

Additional wine by the Glass:

$8.00 /each (incl. tax). This is a full 5 oz glass of wine – a Border Collie-sized portion, not a Chihuahua size.

Tickets

Tickets can be ordered by calling Featherstone at 905-562-1949 or Vineland Estates at 1-888-846-3526 or order online through EZTix.

We hope we haven’t jinxed ourselves by calling it “The Muddy Paws” festival but we will go ahead rain-or-shine and tickets are non-refundable.

Children under the age of 12 will be admitted free with adult accompaniment. Children 12 and older and Designated Drivers can use their wine coupon for a food purchase from our chefs.

Meet the National Service Dog Puppies

The Muddy Paws Wine  Festival is proud to support National Service dogs and a portion of sales from the weekend will go towards supporting their puppies-in-training.  You’ll have an opportunity to meet the NSD puppies, too. They help people who have autism and PTSD. You can’t buy happiness, but you can play with puppies, and it’s the same thing.

Amazing food with our go-to guys

Come. Sit. Cook! We’re thrilled that Chefs Patrick Engel and Mike McColl are back in 2017. All weekend their team will slaving away over a hot charcoal grill. You can choose from Rosemary & Garlic Smoked Pork porchetta sandwich with summer ‘slaw; Mexican Salad Bowl with rice, black beans, cilantro and fresh corn salsa or Soup, Bread & Cheese. The soup is a Chilled Garden Fresh Gazpacho (tomato & cucumber), with local cheddar melted over grilled bread. Pavlov himself would be salivating at the thought.

Live Music : MGM Jazz Trio

Everybody loves the MGM Jazz Trio, so we’ve invited them back. They will be keeping your toes tapping to the groove of your favourite Jazz tunes.

Fresh Baked Artisanal Dog Treats

We’ll be firing up our wood-burning pizza oven and baking fresh Pumpkin and Peanut Butter Dog Cookies all day. They’ll also be available for sale to take away. All proceeds go to National Service Dogs (NSD). For the humans, we bake Dog Bones…tasty little garlicky knots of deliciousness.
